ROLE: NC Fusion Head of ECNL


ROLE: NC Fusion Staff Soccer Coach (Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities)

Location(s): Greensboro, High Point/Jamestown, Winston-Salem, Burlington


An NC Fusion coach is responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of their assigned team in support of the mission and core values of North Carolina Fusion. This includes: establishing a competitive season schedule, coordinating practice planning, skill development, and designing strategies to prepare teams for competition; mentoring players to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth; adherence to NC Fusion Core Values and Standards.


Roles + Responsibilities

• Execute the training objectives and yearly team plan for the assigned team (see Team Plans).

• Preside over team activities including all scheduled team practices and games.

• Promote an environment of skill development, safety, fair play, sportsmanship, and fun.

• Coach in a manner that is energetic, fun, active, and positive.

• Set expectations with players and parents during Pre-season, Mid-Season, and Post-season team meetings.

• Manage team volunteers to ensure the team is prepared for all competitions.

• Ensure proper sideline behavior from team members and parents.

• Submit a summary of your team’s progress at the completion of each season of play.

• Follow NC Fusion Player Evaluation Procedures including Monthly WWW-EBIs and end of season Evaluations.

• Assist in the execution of the club-wide tryout process.

• Communicate effectively with other NC Fusion Staff and correspond kindly, timely and effectively with parents.

• Participate as needed in NC Fusion club activities including meetings, seminars, outreach programs, conventions, conferences, etc.

• Aid in business development by representing the NC Fusion brand, contributing to NC Fusion social media and fundraising efforts.

• Additional tasks or duties as requested by the Executive Staff.


Knowledge + Skill Requirements

The ability to manage, develop, and motivate youth soccer players. Sound interpersonal communications skills necessary for interaction with the players and their families. Strong decision-making skills that require discretion and a significant degree of independent judgment.


A minimum United States Soccer Federation (USSF) D license, a National Youth license or comparable foreign or United Soccer Coaches license/diploma, or are working towards licensing.


Continuing Education and Conferences: It is expected that coaches will continue to seek professional development for themselves. NC Fusion will continue to support this effort based on established coaching education reimbursement policies.


Professional development includes, but not limited to, relevant professional industry memberships, conventions, symposiums, licensing, etc.


At the discretion of the NC Fusion Head of Soccer and Director of Education, a combination of education and playing/coaching experience may be substituted for specific licensing and/or experience requirements. Likewise, licensing requirements may be waived for a time of one year if a coach is working to obtain licensure.


Communication

Be proactive and timely in advising key stakeholders of team arrangements and matters concerning logistics specific to the NC Fusion Classic programming.

• Work to provide alternative options for development opportunities in the eventuality of inclement weather or other factors results in cancelations of practice or games.

• Actively engage the team community (players, parents, Directors, Administration), etc... in the player development process.

• Adhere to the club’s 24-hour communication policy in all forms of communication, email and voicemail, especially when dealing with issues that may arise from time to time.

• Be consistent in communicating with NC Fusion colleagues.

ROLE: Beyond Sports, NC Fusion Foundation, Part-Time Sports Clinic Staff


$20/hour

Up to 10 hours/week


Schedule and location based on school & recess times

Times vary between 9am-2pm Monday-Friday

Locations (Greensboro, High Point, Winston Salem)


About Us

Beyond Sports provides sports-based outreach in the Piedmont Triad. We work with Title I schools in Guilford and Forsyth Counties to increase access and opportunity for students attending underfunded schools. We do this by collecting and donating equipment, offering recess sports clinics in elementary schools, and providing support and mentorship to both players and middle school coaches. Currently we offer programming in 24 area schools.


Job Description

The sports clinic staff will assist with and sometimes lead elementary clinics within the assigned area. He/she will build relationships with teachers, students, and volunteers to provide positive sports experiences, while also helping students learn skills that transfer to the classroom and BEYOND.


Responsibilities

• Lead recess sports clinics with 3rd - 5th grade students.

o Must demonstrate basic knowledge of multiple sports.

o Must have a passion for working with youth!

o Beyond Sports will coordinate all activities and provide sports equipment. Your primary

    role would be to have fun with the kids and encourage them to participate.

• Many of our events require multiple volunteers to help manage the number of children. Sports clinic staff members must be comfortable with leading volunteers.

• Take photos to be used via our social media accounts.


Required qualifications

18+ years old

HS diploma or equivalent

Driver’s license with reliable transportation

Experience working with children

Effective communication and relationship-building skills
